Troy, MI Pay:
$19.00-$22.00/hour

Hourly | Non-Exempt Position Overview An established automotive manufacturing organization in Troy, MI is seeking a hands-on Quality Inspector to support product inspection, sorting, measurement, and quality-control activities. The ideal candidate has previous quality inspection experience and is comfortable using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and inspection gages . This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and properly document products that do not meet required specifications. This is a temp-to-permanent opportunity with the potential to join the organization directly based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities Inspect automotive components to ensure products meet required quality specifications. Perform sorting and inspection activities according to established work instructions. Use calipers, micrometers, inspection gages, and other precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions and specifications. Identify, separate, label, and document non-conforming products. Complete required quality and daily production documentation accurately. Support and lead sorting activities at assigned workstations as needed. Train temporary employees on established sorting and inspection procedures when required. Maintain accurate identification and segregation of acceptable, non-conforming, and scrap material. Inspect components, containers, materials, and finished products for quality concerns. Maintain organized, clean, and safe inspection/work areas. Safely operate and maintain assigned tools and equipment. Assist with packaging and warehouse activities when needed, including scanning, labeling, palletizing, and verifying finished goods. Follow all company quality, safety, and warehouse procedures. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a Quality Inspector or similar manufacturing quality role. Hands-on experience using calipers and micrometers. Experience using inspection gages or similar dimensional inspection equipment. Ability to accurately inspect and measure manufactured components. Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize non-conforming parts. Ability to read and follow written work instructions and inspection requirements. Basic computer skills and ability to complete required documentation. Basic arithmetic skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision while contributing effectively within a team. Willingness to work overtime or weekends when required. Ability to complete required pre-employment screening. Preferred Background Candidates with experience in the following environments are especially relevant: Automotive manufacturing Automotive component inspection Quality inspection / quality control Production or receiving inspection Dimensional inspection Manufacturing sorting and containment Precision measurement Physical Requirements Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. Ability to frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Comfortable working within an active warehouse/manufacturing environment around moving materials and equipment.
