Peter-Lacke USA is seeking a Quality Lab Technician (Paint and Coatings). This position is responsible for testing, evaluating, and documenting the quality of raw materials, intermediates, and finished coating products to ensure they meet internal and customer specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistency in testing methods, and collaboration with both production and R&D teams to maintain a high level of product quality and process reliability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing inspections on all incoming raw materials. This responsibility will include proper filing of results, issuing NCDs to suppliers for materials not meeting specifications, and managing the time materials are received through QI inspection, recording results in SAP and ensuring warehouse material transfers are completed.
- Responsible for completing basic quality control checks for all production finished products, recording results in SAP, and issuing the final QC report.
- Assist technical with defect analysis. Microscopic evaluation, at a minimum, is required, and work with in-depth analyses, such as IR evaluations, are routinely needed. This person will be responsible for building and maintaining a defect product library for future reference.
- Responsible for performing internal testing evaluations, as requested, to minimize the impact on costs driven by external testing services.
- Identifies opportunities for design and/or cost improvements and makes constructive suggestions for change.
- Facilitate effective team interaction, foster teamwork, and help create an environment for individual and team success.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
- Promote corporate image and enhance customer relations by visiting customers and attending product line trials as time permits.
- Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures for health and safety.
- Promotes and uses the company quality systems, being familiar with its philosophy and disciplines. This position in the company has the responsibility and authority to prevent the occurrence or reoccurrence of product nonconformity. Qualifications
