Position Description:

Quality Technician II supports quality and manufacturing operations by administering the gage control and calibration program, performing product inspections and verification activities, conducting product spot audits, investigating product and supplier quality issues, and providing backup support for CMM inspection activities. Working closely with Quality, Production, Engineering, the Microprocessor Lab, suppliers, and external calibration providers, this position helps ensure compliance with quality standards, product specifications, regulatory requirements, and established manufacturing processes. • Coordinate outsourced calibration activities and maintain accurate in-house gage control records.
• Perform and support inspections required to verify product and component conformance.
• Provide quality support for production, the Microprocessor Lab, and supplier-related concerns.
• Product/Process Spot Audits
• Develop CMM operating knowledge to provide backup coverage when the programmer or operator is unavailable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Gage Control Administration
• Coordinate and maintain the company's gage control program by managing outsourced calibration services, tracking calibration schedules, labeling equipment, maintaining gage inventory records, reviewing calibration documentation, and ensuring accurate calibration records are maintained within the ERP system.
• Inspection and Product Verification
• Perform and support product inspections, including 100% inspection activities, foot shell inspections, nonconformance identification, and measurement verification, while documenting results and ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Product and Supplier Issue Investigation
• Investigate product, component, supplier, and assembly-related quality issues by evaluating parts against specifications and inspection criteria, documenting findings, supporting the Microprocessor Lab, and assisting with containment and corrective actions for nonconforming materials
• Product and Process Spot Audits
• Conduct random and scheduled spot audits of products and processes throughout manufacturing operations.
• CMM Cross-Training and Backup Support
• Develop and maintain proficiency in CMM operation and inspection methods to provide backup support for dimensional inspection activities, following established programs and procedures when primary CMM personnel are unavailable.

Physical and Work Requirement:

• Ability to work between company facilities, traveling regularly between locations approximately 10 minutes apart, while supporting inspections, gage control administration, production quality activities, and quality investigations.

Ability to handle parts, gages, and inspection equipment and occasionally lift-up to 20 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training in quality, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Two or more years of manufacturing quality, inspection, calibration administration, or related experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and inspection criteria. Experience using common precision measurement equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, and pin gages. Strong attention to detail, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Comfort working with ERP systems and electronic quality records. Ability to communicate quality findings clearly and work effectively with employees across departments. Experience in regulated manufacturing environment is preferred. Previous CMM exposure is preferred but not required; willingness and ability to learn CMM operation is required. College Park Industries is an
