Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Technician | Masking Quality to support precision masking and quality operations in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring parts are properly masked according to work orders, specifications, and quality requirements before moving to the next stage of processing. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and extensive use of the hands and fingers to apply, inspect, adjust, and remove tape, plugs, caps, and other masking materials. The ideal candidate has a stable work history, strong fine-motor skills, and the ability to perform highly detailed and repetitive work accurately and consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
Review work orders, drawings, and specifications to determine masking and quality requirements. Apply masking materials such as tape, plugs, caps, and other protective materials to designated areas of parts. Inspect parts to verify masking has been applied correctly and to the appropriate areas. Verify masking placement, coverage, edges, and overall workmanship before parts move into processing. Identify missing, incorrect, damaged, loose, or improperly positioned masking. Correct masking issues as needed to ensure parts meet job specifications. Use hands and fingers extensively to perform precise masking, inspection, and adjustment work. Inspect small features, holes, surfaces, and other designated areas requiring protection. Compare completed work against work orders, job instructions, and customer requirements. Identify and report quality concerns, discrepancies, or nonconforming parts. Complete required production and quality documentation accurately. Use basic computer applications to access job information and record production data. Carefully handle parts to prevent scratches, contamination, or other damage. Maintain an organized work area and properly store masking materials and supplies. Work closely with masking, production, and quality team members to maintain consistent workmanship. Follow all established quality, safety, and production procedures. Perform additional masking, inspection, and production support responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Stable work history required. Strong attention to detail required. Excellent hand and finger dexterity required. Ability to perform highly detailed and repetitive work with the hands and fingers for extended periods. Ability to read, write, understand, and speak clear English. Basic computer skills required. Ability to read and follow work orders, written instructions, and specifications. Ability to visually inspect parts and identify small differences, defects, or masking inconsistencies. Ability to maintain focus and accuracy while performing repetitive tasks. Previous masking, quality inspection, manufacturing, assembly, or metal finishing experience preferred. Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task. Dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality. Ability to communicate quality concerns clearly with supervisors and team members. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements throughout the shift.
Working Conditions:
Precision manufacturing and surface-finishing environment. Work requires frequent close visual inspection and repetitive use of the hands and fingers. Regular handling of small parts and masking materials. Work is performed around production and finishing operations with potential exposure to noise, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and manufacturing equipment. Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as appropriate for the work area. Strong emphasis on quality, accuracy, cleanliness, and careful handling of customer parts.
