Job Description

Mountain Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team. This position works under the guidance of the Inspection Manager/Lead to inspect products and monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with our quality program, customer requirements, and blueprint specifications. The Quality Control Inspector will use a variety of precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify product quality throughout various stages of production. This role is responsible for identifying nonconforming products, documenting quality issues, and working with the inspection and manufacturing teams to support continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Perform visual, first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet customer and company requirements Inspect manufactured products for conformance to blueprints, customer specifications, and workmanship standards Perform and document dimensional checks and visual inspections Identify nonconforming products and communicate quality concerns to the Inspection Lead or Manager Assist with troubleshooting quality issues and identifying potential causes of failures Verify product and material identification for traceability purposes, including raw materials, customer property, and nonconforming products Ensure measuring devices and gauges are properly maintained and calibrated; report calibration concerns as needed Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and shipping/receiving departments to support quality requirements throughout the production process Collaborate with manufacturing personnel on inspection methods and quality procedures Communicate professionally and effectively with employees regarding quality concerns and resolutions Confer with the Inspection Manager regarding new or challenging product designs and inspection requirements Follow inspection, traceability, documentation, safety, and quality procedures Support continuous improvement efforts and maintain a strong commitment to product quality and integrity Promote Mountain Manufacturing's quality culture and commitment to meeting or exceeding customer expectations Follow all required safety procedures and PPE requirements while working on the shop floor Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Two or more years of experience working with quality and industry standards Experience working with machined products preferred Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation Ability to understand dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, notes, and surface treatments Basic computer and software skills Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges Strong mechanical aptitude Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to organize work, multitask, and prioritize responsibilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and quality Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle tools, equipment, and products Ability to reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance as needed Ability to lift or move products weighing up to 50 pounds independently Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, odors, heat, cold, and chemicals Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and gloves Mountain Manufacturing is committed to delivering products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
