Job Description
Plasma Table/Metal Fabrication Technician Rogers, Minnesota based EnDiSys manufactures and distributes equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid materials to the industrial, pharmaceutical, sanitary and contractor markets.
Job Purpose:
Perform plasma table operation, fabrication, material preparation and some welding on aluminum, carbon steel and stainless-steel components and sub-assemblies.Essential Duties:
- Operation of plasma table and maintenance (in-house training)
- Ability to fabricate, cut, shear, brake and debur materials for welding
- Able to use all types of welding equipment, weldment positioning and manipulating equipment, air chipping hammers, rotary air powered brushes, air grinders, air impact wrenches, overhead power hoists and hand tools.
- Able to use measuring devices such as hand tape, square, calipers, and protractor.
- Work from drawings, sketches and instructions provided by engineers/designers.
- Able to set current, gas pressures and regulate pressure controls.
- Able to select rod, wire, tips and electrodes for specific operation to be performed.
- Fit and position parts in accordance with drawing specifications, position and secure holding devices and tack weld as necessary.
- Uses care to lay a smooth bead to obtain proper penetration and fusion, avoids burning or distortion of metals and detects defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties for reporting to supervisor.
- Able to passivate stainless steel parts as required.
- Assists other department employees in fitting and positioning parts.
- Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Requires high school or equivalent education
- Basic math skills with ability to read measurement tools.
- Ability to read blueprints with knowledge of welding symbols.
- Able to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to work independently
Desirable Qualifications:
- TIG experience with stainless steel and aluminum
- Plasma and argon gas cutting capabilities.
- Metal brake, iron worker and shear experience.
