Position Summary:

Cochran is seeking a Materials Testing Field Technician to join our team in Lees Summit, Missouri. This position is responsible for performing and documenting field testing, inspection, and observation of construction materials including concrete, soils, asphalt, and aggregate. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an interest in construction and materials testing.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform field testing and inspection of construction materials including: Concrete, Soil, Asphalt, and Aggregate. Collect, record, and maintain accurate testing data and field documentation. Observe construction activities and verify compliance with project specifications and applicable standards. Communicate test results and field observations to project managers and clients. Prepare reports and maintain testing records. Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and related documents. Operate testing equipment safely and efficiently. Travel to project sites as needed within the region. Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

Required High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 pounds. General knowledge of construction practices. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred 1-2 years of construction, inspection, or materials testing experience. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification. Experience with construction documentation and testing procedures.
