Job Description
Layout Technician Shift:
Shift | Tuesday-Friday | 5:15 PM to 5:15 AM- 3+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment performing dimensional inspection and layout activities
- Hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Layout Technician to support quality and manufacturing operations through dimensional inspection and measurement activities.
- Program, setup, and operate CMMs, portable CMMs, laser scanners, and other precision measurement equipment
- Perform dimensional layouts and inspections on production parts, assemblies, fixtures, and tooling
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
- Analyze measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports
- Identify dimensional discrepancies and support corrective action efforts
- Assist engineering and quality teams with validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment Job Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred
- Alternatively, 3+ years of experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, quality inspection, or CMM programming
- Experience with PC-DMIS or similar CMM software
- Proficiency using portable CMMs and related measurement software
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities
- Automotive manufacturing environment

- First article inspections, tooling validation, and process capability studies
