Job Description

Layout Technician Shift:
Shift | Tuesday-Friday | 5:15 PM to 5:15 AM
  • 3+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment performing dimensional inspection and layout activities
  • Hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
  • Strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Layout Technician to support quality and manufacturing operations through dimensional inspection and measurement activities.
This role is responsible for verifying that components, assemblies, and tooling meet engineering specifications and quality requirements using advanced metrology equipment and measurement systems. Job Responsibilities
  • Program, setup, and operate CMMs, portable CMMs, laser scanners, and other precision measurement equipment
  • Perform dimensional layouts and inspections on production parts, assemblies, fixtures, and tooling
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
  • Analyze measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports
  • Identify dimensional discrepancies and support corrective action efforts
  • Assist engineering and quality teams with validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment Job Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred
  • Alternatively, 3+ years of experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, quality inspection, or CMM programming
  • Experience with PC-DMIS or similar CMM software
  • Proficiency using portable CMMs and related measurement software
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Automotive manufacturing environment
  • 3D scanning and advanced metrology equipment
  • First article inspections, tooling validation, and process capability studies
  • Quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies #GRP2
