General program information and/or position overview. Leidos is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support the Maritime System Division (MSD) in Long Beach, MS, an
ISO 9001
certified manufacturing facility. MSD is aligned within the Leidos Defense Systems Sector under the Sea Systems business unit. The scope of the business activities at the facility includes development and deployment of advanced technology solutions that address existing and emerging maritime missions of national importance for a broad range of customers across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, other governmental agencies and commercial clients. Primary Responsibilities:
Perform quality inspections of components, subassemblies and completed assemblies Document inspection results in manufacturing execution system Document nonconforming materials and coordinate material reviews and dispositions Support efforts to coordinate and resolve defects with suppliers Support the development of test procedures and inspection checklists Witness required testing per approved test procedures, document findings Review and provide input to program plans and other program documents in support of document accuracy and on-time delivery Support root cause analysis investigations for findings and requirement escapes Support the collection of Quality Metrics Basic Qualifications:
Must be a US citizen High school diploma or equivalent and 3 - 5 years of prior relevant experience Ability to interpret written specifications and drawings Experience in inspecting precision machined and fabricated parts in accordance with drawing requirements and specified tolerances using micrometers and calipers Ability to perform visual inspections requiring excellent visual acuity Experience in performing quality hardware configuration verifications Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously Self-starter with attention to detail / observant Strong communication and analytical skills Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) Experience performing electrical resistance/continuity testing using a multimeter Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in inspecting electronics assemblies in accordance with the IPC-A-610
standard Working knowledge of IPC-J-STD-001
requirements for soldered electrical and electronic assemblies Experience working in a hardware manufacturing environment Experience inspecting precision machined O-ring sealing surfaces Working knowledge of the ISO 9001
