• Job Title: Quality Inspector
• Job Description
• We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support quality assurance efforts for a custom packaging manufacturer specializing in protective and industrial packaging solutions.

This role focuses on inspecting a wide range of packaging productsincluding foam inserts for electronics and high-value hardware, heavy-duty wood crates, export-compliant pallets, custom corrugated packaging and retail displays, sustainable molded fiber packaging, and specialized cold-chain shipping solutionsto verify they meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. The Quality Inspector plays a key role in maintaining high product quality by performing in-process, first-piece, and final inspections and documenting all findings within the companys quality system.

• Responsibilities
• + Inspect corrugated boxes, wood crates, pallets, skids, foam inserts, and other packaging products to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards.

+ Evaluate both cosmetic appearance and dimensional accuracy of products during in-process, first-piece, and final inspections.

+ Use tape measures, blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation to verify that all products conform to required measurements and specifications.

+ Utilize barcode scanners and computer-based documentation systems to record inspection results accurately within the companys quality system.

+ Perform thorough in-process quality checks throughout production to identify and address potential issues early.

+ Conduct first-piece inspections to validate initial production runs before full-scale manufacturing begins.

+ Complete final inspections on finished products to confirm quality and readiness for shipment.

+ Provide clear, constructive feedback to machine operators and production personnel regarding quality concerns and nonconformances.

+ Collaborate closely with production teams across multiple manufacturing areas to maintain consistent quality standards.

+ Follow established work instructions, quality procedures, and documentation requirements with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.

+ Demonstrate strong attention to detail and avoid shortcuts that could compromise product quality or customer satisfaction.

+ Maintain a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and responsibility for the quality of products inspected.

+ Support a continuous improvement culture by identifying opportunities to enhance inspection processes and overall product quality.

+ Work independently while contributing positively to a team-oriented environment focused on safety and quality.

+ Participate in hands-on training across multiple departments to build a solid understanding of products, equipment, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.

• Essential Skills
• + Previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and production documentation accurately.

+ Proficiency using measuring tools such as tape measures and other inspection equipment.

+ Comfortable utilizing barcode scanners and computer-based documentation systems for recording inspection results.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all inspection activities.

+ Ability to perform in-process inspections, first-piece inspections, and final inspections independently.

+ Effective communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback to machine operators and production teams.

+ Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented culture.

+ Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and responsibility for product quality.

+ Self-motivated approach with a commitment to following established processes and quality standards.

• + Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in enhancing quality and inspection processes. + Experience with continuous improvement principles is a plus. + Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment producing a variety of packaging solutions. + Willingness to learn and participate in cross-department training to understand products, equipment, and manufacturing processes.

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
