Job Description

Position Overview The Metrology Specialist is responsible for performing precise dimensional measurements and inspections to ensure quality and compliance in automotive and metal-mechanical manufacturing. This role utilizes advanced metrology equipment and software to validate parts, support engineering teams, and maintain industry standards. Key Responsibilities Metrology & Inspection Develop, implement, and maintain metrology procedures for accurate dimensional inspection. Perform measurements using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Faro arms, and height gages. Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and support
APQP/PPAP
submissions. Apply non-contact measurement systems (laser scanning, optical imaging, photogrammetry, radar) for rapid and precise data acquisition. Generate and analyze 3D models for dimensional validation using advanced scanning and visualization software. Collaboration & Support Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure parts meet quality standards. Troubleshoot and resolve metrology-related issues efficiently. Provide feedback on design or manufacturing improvements based on measurement results. Equipment Management & Compliance Maintain calibration and preventive maintenance records for all measurement equipment. Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and company procedures. Stay updated with advancements in metrology technologies and industry best practices. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in metrology engineering, preferably in automotive or metal-mechanical industries. Skills & Knowledge Proficiency in CMM programming, Faro arms, and height gages. Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, and First Article Inspection processes. Experience with 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and data analysis software is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment.
