JOB OVERVIEW
Certerra-Southern Engineering is hiring an experienced CMT (Construction Materials Testing) Technician in Greensboro, NC to perform testing of various construction materials on active construction sites to verify compliance with project documents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Concrete/Grout/Mortar inspection and testing • Monitoring for proper placement techniques Testing for slump, air content, unit weight, temperature Molding of compressive strength specimens Core drilling Asphalt Establishing test locations Checking load temperature Verifying property laydown and rolling practices Core drilling for density/thickness specimen Soil/Aggregate testing Testing density/compaction Observing proof rolling Verifying proper moisture content Checking bearing capacity for foundation support Excavation quantification
Minimum Qualifications:
Required • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) diploma. • Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and be deemed insurable by the firm insurance carrier
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
(any of the below) American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician Level I Certification National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET) CMT Level I or higher (soils or concrete) International Code Council (ICC) Soils Certification NCDOT Certifications (e.g., QMS Roadway Technician conventional density, ABC/borrow pit sampling)
