Jamestown, NC Job Details Full-time $18 - $20 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Paid training 401(k) Qualifications Teamwork Packing Stitching Attention to detail Packaging Full Job Description About the Role Window Works Studio, a well-established custom workroom specializing in window treatments, bedding, cushions, and soft furnishings, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drapery Fabricator to join our workroom team. This position is ideal for a candidate with sewing experience who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and is looking to grow their skills in a professional, collaborative environment. Paid training is provided. We welcome candidates with a strong sewing foundation from any background — home sewing, upholstery, costuming, or prior workroom experience — who are ready to build on that foundation with our proven methods. Key Responsibilities Sew and fabricate custom drapery, valances, shades, bedding, and cushions to studio specifications Apply proven workroom techniques to ensure consistent, high-quality craftsmanship Operate industrial sewing machines, irons, and standard workroom tools Manage and track progress on multiple projects throughout the day Inspect finished pieces for quality and accuracy prior to completion Press, fold, and package completed items for installation Communicate proactively with teammates to keep production moving efficiently Handle fabric rolls and finished pieces with care to prevent damage Support and mentor newer team members as skills develop, contributing to a collaborative, high-performing workroom Qualifications Sewing experience required (home sewing, upholstery, costuming, or workroom experience welcome) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship Solid measuring skills and comfort with basic math, including fractions Willingness to learn new techniques and follow detailed instructions Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and help guide workflow within the team Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset Ability to stand for extended periods and lift fabric rolls (up to 25 lbs) What We Offer Competitive starting pay: $18-$20/hour, based on experience Paid, hands-on training in professional fabrication techniques Simple IRA with employer matching after one year of employment Consistent Monday-Friday schedule, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM A creative, supportive workroom environment where your craftsmanship is valued Opportunities to grow into a leadership role within the team as skills and experience develop How to Apply If you're an experienced or eager-to-learn seamstress ready to bring precision, care, and leadership to a growing team, we'd love to hear from you.
