2016 5S Metal fabrication Manufacturing facility experience Precision measurement in machining Kaizen PPAP Full Job Description We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician with hands-on Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience to perform precise physical measurements and ensure machined and manufactured components meet strict tolerance and compliance standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on fabricated/welded steel parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, Faro Arm) Conduct first-off inspections and verify weld quality per
AWS D1.1/CSA W47.1
standards Identify non-conformances, support root cause analysis, and track corrective actions Complete PPAP, ISIR, and dimensional layout reports Maintain quality documentation per
ISO 9001/IATF 16949/ISO 14001
Manage calibration records for inspection equipment Support 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Post-secondary education in Quality, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience in steel fabrication 2-5 years' experience in a fabrication or welding environment, with a focus on quality inspection or assurance Strong understanding of steel grades, welding processes, and fabrication methods Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and weld symbol interpretation Experience operating and programming CMM or Faro Arm equipment (training provided if needed) Knowledge of PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, and MSA is an asset Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or
IATF 16949
quality systems Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with exposure to ERP or quality management systems an asset
Pay:
$22.07 - $25.33 per hour
