POSITION PURPOSE
The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality and compliance. This individual is responsible for overseeing production quality, accurate product labeling, comprehensive product testing, and diligent follow-up processes. Key responsibilities include conducting quality control tests, utilizing laboratory equipment, and maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the laboratory. Additionally, this individual will prepare paint formulas based on customer specifications, ensuring that each product meets the required standards. This role involves record-keeping of all test results, along with the analysis, certification, and summarization of findings. The Quality Control Technician applies safety guidelines in a fair and consistent manner and contributes to a positive team atmosphere.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DUTIES QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience Associate's or Technical Degree with an emphasis in quality control or chemical manufacturing preferred Basic algebra/math skills for calculations concerning percent, dilutions, ratios, averages, etc. 1+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in Quality Control or Manufacturing Extensive working knowledge of PC functions and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. Strong troubleshooting skills, able to work independently, displays initiative, and demonstrates a problem-solving approach
JOB DUTIES
Perform the Quality Control Line Check. Responsible for quality control, compliance, and accurate labeling for all products, including both finished goods and raw materials. Perform liquid batch checks by following the approved methods and using various lab equipment and software. Responsible for product retain testing, follow-up, and product testing for long-term stability. Keep retain samples and cards organized. Create custom color formulations for customer paint requests in a timely manner. Responsible for analysis of customer returns. Perform bacteria test on liquid samples. Be trained to perform floor applications. Ensures all safety policies and procedures are adhered to in the plant. Keep lab area clean and organized. Assist in other areas as directed. Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus. Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines, travel when necessary. Contributes to the development and continual improvement of the SHEQ Management System(s). PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must be able to bend, climb stairs, and continuously stand or walk 75% of the time. Must be able to move within the office and plant to reach file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must be able to use dexterity to handle small safety equipment and/or hazardous material. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to communicate effectively by listening and also in both written and verbal forms.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Generally, works in a manufacturing environment but is also required to perform job duties in a typical office setting. This position regularly requires large amounts of time to be spent using manufacturing equipment, which generally entails regular and repetitive motions along with exposure to loud noises. All safety procedures should be adhered to in these situations. This position also requires some amount of time to be spent using computer equipment, which entails regular and repetitive motions. Will regularly be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals. All safety procedures should be adhered to in each of these situations. Subject to working near moving parts of heavy machinery and high voltage equipment where use of appropriate safety equipment is required. Work includes indoor and outdoor environment during possible adverse weather conditions.

Compensation Range:
