Job Description

Quality Control Technician | Mooresville, North Carolina | $22-25/hr | Monday-Thursday Schedule Overview Mural is partnering with a global specialty chemical and polymer materials manufacturer to find a Quality Control Technician for their Mooresville, North Carolina facility. Our client produces polymer colorants and specialty additive materials used in automotive parts, packaging, appliances, and consumer products. This is a contract opportunity with a genuinely attractive schedule - four days a week, Fridays off. The Schedule Monday through Thursday, 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM. That is it. Fridays are yours as part of your regular schedule, with only occasional exceptions when production needs it. If you want a four-day workweek in a stable manufacturing environment, this is a rare find. What you will be doing You will be the quality resource for the production floor - testing finished batches against customer specifications, evaluating incoming raw materials, and stepping in when production needs technical guidance on whether a batch is in spec or what adjustment it needs. Perform standard quality tests on production batches and incoming raw materials to verify they meet internal and customer specifications Evaluate color and material compliance against customer-defined standards - color matching experience is a significant plus for this role Recommend and help develop adjustments to out-of-spec batches Maintain Certificates of Analysis from material suppliers Record all test results in SAP and maintain required quality documentation Verify that gauges and test equipment are properly calibrated and functioning Participate in complaint investigations and corrective action processes as needed Follow all safety, PPE, and housekeeping requirements throughout the shift What we are looking for
Required:
High school diploma or GED 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial production At least 1 year of quality control or lab testing experience Color matching or colorant experience is a meaningful differentiator for this role SAP experience for recording quality data Active forklift license Familiarity with standard lab testing procedures and documentation
Preferred:
Direct experience in a colorant, coatings, plastics, or specialty chemical environment Experience managing Certificates of Analysis from suppliers Background in corrective action or complaint investigation processes Experience verifying and calibrating test equipment Pay and Details $22.00 to $25.00 per hour based on experience. Contract position, 60-90 days with duration to be determined based on production needs. Located at 337 Timber Rd, Mooresville, NC 28115 - in the Charlotte metro area, approximately 30 miles north of Charlotte.
