Non-Exempt Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Quality Inspector / Quality Assurance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for ensuring incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products meet company, customer, and applicable quality requirements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on the manufacturing floor, performing inspections, identifying quality issues, maintaining accurate documentation, and working closely with production and engineering to prevent defects and improve overall product quality. What You'll Do Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials, components, and assemblies. Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using precision measuring equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements. Identify, document, tag, and segregate nonconforming materials and products. Support containment activities and escalate significant quality concerns when identified. Monitor manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to prevent defects and improve quality. Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, and traceability documentation. Conduct product, process, and layered process audits as assigned. Verify calibration status and proper use of inspection and testing equipment. Utilize quality tools such as SPC, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and 8D problem solving. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities. Support PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and other quality planning activities as required. Work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality personnel to resolve quality issues. Support continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing defects, scrap, and rework. Perform NDT inspections when qualified and certified to do so. Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures. What We're Looking For Required High School Diploma or GED. Experience in quality inspection, quality control, quality assurance, or manufacturing. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to communicate effectively with production employees, supervisors, engineers, and management. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred 2+ years of experience in manufacturing quality or inspection. Automotive, heavy vehicle, metal fabrication, or regulated manufacturing experience. Experience with GD&T. Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and/or
ISO 9001.
Experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans. Experience conducting process or product audits. Internal Auditor certification. ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT). NDT Level II certification or relevant NDT experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the manufacturing facility. Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and machinery. Ability to visually inspect products and identify defects. Why Join Our Team?
