Quality Technician I, 1st Shift New Bern, NC / Full-time Your responsibilities Continuously improve value streams related to the quality of supplied parts to BSH site New Bern. Analyze, inspect and manage improvement projects related to supplied parts. Maintain and use testing equipment needed to test supplied parts. Respond to line calls within the dishwasher and cooking factories and initiate sorting or containment in the case where supplied parts are non-conforming. Support value streams in problem solving and resolution to ensure quality and production. Read and interpret part drawings to determine if supplied parts are conforming. Will also perform sorting, inspection, and some metrology department support as needed. Support Supplier Quality Engineers in problem solving and Teamcenter activities. Analyze dishwasher and cooking components from field returns when needed. Use and maintain test equipment to determine conformance of supplied components. Work with Production, Product Quality, Engineering and other teams to determine status of suspect parts. Initiate supplier communications relevant to quality disruptions, nonconformance that may also include RMA requests and requests for sorting authorizations. Investigate root cause and issue supplier quality corrective action reports (8D); monitor supplier performance and internal production to ensure corrective actions are sustainable and implemented in a timely fashion. Minimize effects of quality disruptions and exercise proper containment that may include line sorting and/or warehouse inspections of materials, parts/components and assembly and fabrication areas for non-conformance. Perform inspections, checks, tests, and sampling of incoming parts, materials and components; record data as required. Perform line return parts analysis and disposition using SAP. Summarize test data results, plot data in graphic form and present to management, other stakeholders as required. Assist engineers and others on problem solving projects and supplied component analysis. Assist on Technical Call Rate (TCR) reduction projects. Support line-return analysis procedures and provide measurement support. Look up inspection requirements for all supplied parts per check/work instructions. Perform required data collection related to sorting, analyzing, or other activities as needed. Cooperates with other individuals and groups as necessary. Support customer returned parts analysis and data entry of analysis results in SAP. Ensure rejected parts from the assembly line are given proper disposition in SAP. Perform Teamcenter Factory Releases as needed. Assist Metrology lab with FPI measurements using a variety of measuring tools including CMM Your profile High-School Diploma
  • Required Associate degree (Engineering or similar technical degree)
  • Preferred Certification (Shanin Red X Certificate)
  • Preferred Working knowledge of ISO, FMEA, 8D, SPC and Shainin Red X.
Good understanding of factory and environmental safety. Experience with gages and other measuring equipment including Hexagon Arm and CMM Excellent writing and oral communication skills and be able to communicate with a wide spectrum of people from auditors to upper management. Red X Apprentice certificate preferred. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, SAP CMM experience preferred. Your Pay & Benefits The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible, then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
