Job Description

Quality Technician The Quality Technician supports quality assurance, product testing, safety, and continuous improvement for Yale Cordage, a division of the Slingmax Group. Reporting to the Quality Systems Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining quality programs and certifications while identifying opportunities to improve product quality, safety, productivity, and manufacturing processes. The Quality Specialist will work closely with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to conduct testing, investigate non-conformances and customer returns, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will develop a strong technical understanding of Yale Cordage products and manufacturing processes and serve as an internal resource for technical product questions. This position also provides an opportunity to gain exposure to Slingmax's high-performance synthetic fiber lifting products and collaborate with engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintain quality assurance and routine production testing programs. Conduct root cause analysis, corrective actions, and problem-solving investigations. Identify and implement improvements to quality, safety, productivity, yield, and scrap reduction. Support internal and external audits and maintain quality documentation. Investigate non-conforming materials and customer returns (RMAs). Operate laboratory testing equipment and prepare technical reports. Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives. Work hands-on in the manufacturing environment to understand processes and implement improvements. Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams across multiple facilities. Travel domestically approximately 5-10% . Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
