Job Title:

Quality Technician Job Description The Quality Technician maintains the operational effectiveness of the quality laboratories by performing precise dimensional and visual inspections, calibrating and maintaining measurement equipment, and supporting plant problem-solving and engineering projects through accurate testing, analysis, and documentation. Responsibilities Maintain the operational effectiveness of the Quality Labs to ensure consistent and reliable testing and inspection results. Perform laboratory measurements on inserts and report findings accurately and promptly to Quality Management. Conduct dimensional and visual acceptance inspections using comparators, Keyence systems, hard gages, and other measurement equipment. Perform in-process inspections of inserts as needed to verify compliance with drawings and product specifications. Perform calibration of gages and measurement equipment and maintain calibration software to ensure accuracy and traceability. Conduct internal process audits as needed to verify adherence to procedures, standards, and quality requirements. Understand process routing and conduct special testing and analysis to support plant problem-solving efforts and engineering projects. Interface with equipment vendors as needed to coordinate equipment support, calibration, and maintenance activities. Work with SAP and perform accurate and timely data entry while maintaining complete and organized records. Retrieve and interpret engineering drawings and part prints to understand dimensions, tolerances, and inspection requirements. Perform Cp and Cpk measurements for certification processes and document results according to procedures. Read and understand insert identification charts, process routings, and operating procedures to ensure correct inspection and testing methods. Properly interpret insert defect criteria and apply them consistently during inspection activities. Follow procedures and work instructions for conducting customer certifications and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate. Apply experience and technical skills to complete assigned work within the defined area of expertise. Work in accordance with standard operating procedures and established scientific methods to maintain consistency and quality. Report directly to the Quality Manager and interact extensively with all departments to support quality-related activities and initiatives. Essential Skills Ability to perform dimensional and visual measurements using comparators, Keyence systems, hard gages, and other measurement equipment. Experience performing gage calibration and maintenance and maintaining calibration software. Proficiency with SAP for data entry and record maintenance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication. Ability to use GageTrak or similar calibration management software. Ability to effectively use gages and measurement devices to verify compliance with drawings and product specifications. Ability to retrieve and interpret engineering drawings and part prints, including dimensions and instructions. Capability to perform Cp and Cpk measurements for certification processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and understand insert identification charts, process routings, and operating procedures. Ability to properly interpret insert defect criteria and apply them consistently. Ability to follow procedures and work instructions for conducting customer certifications. Ability to work in accordance with standard operating procedures and established scientific methods. Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment. High school diploma. Additional Skills & Qualifications 13 years of relevant experience (preferred). Vocational training or equivalent industry experience (preferred). Experience working in a quality control or inspection environment. Familiarity with quality control principles and inspection practices. Experience performing internal process audits. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates on a 3rd shift schedule from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. You will work in a quality laboratory and production environment using comparators, Keyence systems, hard gages, and other precision measurement equipment, as well as computer systems including SAP, Microsoft Office, and calibration software such as GageTrak. The role requires careful attention to detail, consistent adherence to standard operating procedures, and effective collaboration in a diverse work setting where self-motivation is essential to success. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Weldon, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
