Job Description

We are looking for an experienced CMM Inspector for a company located in Paterson, NJ, to support inspection and quality activities in a job-shop environment. This position requires strong dimensional inspection skills, the ability to interpret complex drawings and tolerances, and sound judgment when evaluating precision CNC-manufactured components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working closely with machinists, engineering, and quality leadership. Responsibilities of the
CMM Inspector:
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on CNC-manufactured componentsInspect close-tolerance parts with requirements ranging from ±.001" to ±.0005"Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T requirementsUtilize inspection equipment including micrometers, linear height gauges, depth micrometers, CMM equipment, and related measuring toolsAccurately complete inspection reports and required quality documentationTroubleshoot measurement discrepancies and identify potential inspection issuesManage multiple inspection priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailSupport ISO 9001 and AS9100 audit activitiesEvaluate part acceptability based on drawing requirements and customer intentPerform daily CMM equipment checks and routine maintenanceConduct probe calibration and machine accuracy verificationMaintain measuring equipment, inspection tools, and fixtures in proper working conditionSupport equipment qualification and validation activitiesFollow appropriate environmental controls to maintain measurement accuracyAssist with probe selection and measurement strategy development Benefits of the

CMM Inspector:
2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or job-shop environmentStrong working knowledge of blueprint reading, inspection instruments, tolerancing, and GD&T5 years of experience inspecting precision CNC-machined componentsHands-on experience using micrometers, height gauges, depth micrometers, CMMs, and other precision measuring equipmentKnowledge of close-tolerance inspection practicesFamiliarity with
AS9100, ISO
9001, and ITAR quality requirementsUnderstanding of surface finish measurement and analysisExperience troubleshooting measurement discrepancies and performing failure analysisKnowledge of precision measurement best practicesKnowledge of Mitutoyo MiStar 555 CMM equipment#INDDO
