$20.95/hr. on W2 Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Quality Inspector to support quality assurance and inspection activities in a precision manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for inspecting complex mechanical parts, subassemblies, and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in mechanical inspection, blueprint reading, precision measurement techniques, and quality control processes. Key Responsibilities Inspect complex mechanical parts, subassemblies, and assemblies using engineering drawings, blueprints, process sheets, work instructions, and specifications. Verify dimensional accuracy, tolerances, hardness, thickness, painting, plating, and other quality requirements. Utilize precision measurement equipment, including: Dial indicators Optical comparators Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) Calipers Micrometers Other specialized inspection instruments Perform mathematical calculations involving geometry and trigonometry to verify dimensions, angles, tolerances, and inspection requirements. Identify defects, calculate defect rates, and evaluate products against established quality standards and control limits. Inspect reworked, repaired, or modified parts to confirm corrective actions have been successfully completed. Develop alternative inspection setups and methods when standard procedures or tooling are not applicable. Approve acceptable products and apply inspection certifications or stamps as required. Conduct final inspections prior to customer acceptance and shipment. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve technical and quality-related issues. Participate in quality audits and process verification activities. Support failure analysis and field return evaluations when required. Assist with training and mentoring junior inspectors. Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation. Required Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School certification. Minimum of 4 years of mechanical inspection, quality inspection, or related machining experience. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation. Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment. Demonstrated proficiency in geometry and trigonometry. Knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques, quality standards, and manufacturing processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to interpret technical requirements and make sound inspection decisions. Effective verbal and written communication skills. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Background in precision machining, manufacturing, or aerospace/defense environments. Experience conducting quality audits and process inspections. Familiarity with corrective action processes and root cause analysis. Knowledge of industry quality standards and inspection procedures. Experience training or mentoring employees. Work Environment Manufacturing or production environment. Frequent use of precision inspection tools and measuring equipment. Work may include inspection of intricate and close-tolerance mechanical components. Regular interaction with production, engineering, and quality teams.
