Job Description
Under the direction of the Materials Manager performs all duties and tasks as required to ensure the safe, efficient, and expedient operation and function of Nor-Lea Hospital District material purchasing and central supply distribution areas. Provides other duties as necessary. Arranges for transfer of materials to meet department schedules in timely manner.
Examines materials for defects and ensures materials are satisfactory and up to the proper level of standard for usage and effectiveness, reporting any damages to management.
Maintains adequate surgical supplies, instruments, equipment, linens and other hospital materials. Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventive measures.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply room or other areas.
Receive, pack, and unpack items, verifying count, to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouse, or storage yards. Record data in system.
Experience Shipping and receiving experience preferred. At least one year in a hospital setting preferred but not required. Education High School graduate or equivalent. Some college course work in supply chain management preferred but not required. MINIMUM EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree Required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
- Must hold a currently valid driver's license and have an excellent driving record.
