Job Summary
The Quality Control Field Technician will assist the Quality Manager in optimizing the efficiency and productivity of plants by testing and analyzing data and resolving any issues at the project sites.

Additional voluntary benefits Responsibilities Work with the plant operator on plant operations and efficiency
Inspect Batch Plant, aggregate stockpiles, and mix designs at the assigned plant
Ability to adjust loads with concrete admixtures
Sample aggregates and perform applicable Portland cement concrete tests (in accordance with the most current ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards)
Testing to include: moisture content, temperature, slump, density, air content, cylinders, etc.
Troubleshoot and address material/quality issues (low breaks, Schmidt hammer, cracking, coring, etc.)
Coordinate work with internal personnel, i.e. sales, operations, customer service, and dispatch
Prepare job incident reports
Analyze aggregate and strength reports
Work directly with customers
Attend pre-job meetings
Work with plant operators, co-workers, and drivers Education High school diploma/GED
ATTI and ACI certified Requirements/Qualifications Obtain and maintain ACI Field Grade Certification within six (6) months in the position
Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, lifting, sitting, stretching, vibration, twisting, pushing/pulling of controls, and riding on rough terrain, use of hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers, driving/walking on uneven ground, and climbing stairs
Frequent lifting up to 75 pounds, occasional lifting of 100 pounds
May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather and be able to work in wet environments
Must be able to work flexible hours with varying start and stop times
Overtime work will be required as needed by the company
Must meet OSHA 10 guidelines and be able to follow all CalPortland Safety Policies
ANSI-approved PPE will be provided and must be used when required
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
Able to work cooperatively with others
Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable
Technician subject to random drug and alcohol screens as required by the company
May be required to perform Lab Technician duties based on business need Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
