Job Description
Position Summary:
- The DPF Quality Specialist II is an essential role within the DPF Program.
Major Responsibilities:
- DPF Quality Control
- Visually inspect DPFs and perform quality tests to determine flow restriction and cell integrity using pin gauges, a borescope, and flow testing equipment
- With supervisory oversight, make informed decisions on whether a DPF can be cleaned and reused or should be disposed of
- Follow all quality measurement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest quality DPFs are produced
- Ensure Penske quality standards meet or exceed current
DOT/EPA/GHG
guidelines- Performing DPF Cleaning and Repair
- Associate will be trained and will perform two standard cleaning procedures
- Perform procedures consistently, as a repeatable process is critical to ensuring DPF quality is compliant with Penske and
EPA/DOT/GHG
standards- Operate pneumatic equipment to clean DPFs using proper nozzles and patterns based on unit specifications
- Complete quality tests following the pneumatic cleaning process to determine whether the DPF meets Penske specifications
- Operate a thermal oven as needed for additional cleaning, including safely operating a kiln and adhering to all proper usage procedures
- Assisting in Basic Warehouse Management Tasks in a Team Environment
- Perform various operational and warehouse tasks to maintain the flow of the DPF process
- Tasks include, but are not limited to: removing stickers from scrap barrel lids, prepping paperwork and gaskets for the kitting process, using hand tools to grind DPF surfaces, packaging failed DPFs for shipment, and unbarreling DPFs for receiving and shipping
- Maintain a clean workstation by mitigating soot buildup on all surfaces daily
- Apply 5S methodology to personal workstation and work area
- Data Entry
- Frequently use a computer for data entry and decision documentation
- Document all quality tests and measurements in Salesforce
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency in all data entry tasks Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- 2 years of operational, manufacturing, or warehouse experience required; 2 years of automotive or diesel experience may be substituted in lieu of the above
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment required
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Strong documentation and data collection skills
- Must have excellent organizational skills, including the ability to keep work areas and inventory clean and tidy
- Must be a team player and willing to assist teammates as needed
- Excellent time management skills including the ability to multi-task
- Introductory understanding of engine, drive-train, and body parts
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting
- Ability to understand and use hand tools
- Must be able to respect and follow standard operating procedures

- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
