Job Description

POSITION TITLE
QA Inspector - Warehouse
DEPARTMENT
Quality
REPORTS TO
Supervisor, QA
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Work with warehouse personnel to assure that all incoming materials are compliant. Act as backup for all routine QA Inspector functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform physical inspection of incoming raw materials and components
  • Sample raw materials for submission to QC lab
  • Document inspectional processes on associated forms. Log all forms as required.
  • Apply release stickers to all released materials and move to general warehouse location
  • Reject all materials that fail inspection/testing, write up rejection paperwork, quarantine rejected material for final disposition.
  • Maintain QA Quarantine area and inventory.
Backup Responsibilities:
  • Perform Line Clearances for Manufacturing, Compression, and Packaging
  • Perform in process checks for Compression (hardness, weight, friability, thickness)
  • Perform in process checks for Packaging (count, container, seal, label, etc.)
  • Review in-process batch documentation to ensure real-time completion and accuracy
  • Inspect and sample raw material and components
General:
  • Utilize forklifts to perform duties as required
  • Adhere to all cGMP requirements and document all work
  • Other QA responsibilities as needed
  • Must be ablet to lift up to 50 pounds
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior QA and cGMP experience preferred
  • Prior experience within the Pharmaceutical or other controlled Industry preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic math skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment and requires regular presence in production, compression, packaging, warehouse, and label storage areas. The employee may be exposed to operating machinery, equipment noise, dust, powders, cleaning agents, temperature variations, and other conditions commonly found in a manufacturing facility. The role requires frequent walking and standing throughout the facility, movement between production areas, and close interaction with Manufacturing, Packaging, Warehouse, and Quality personnel. The employee must be able to safely access production equipment and work areas in order to perform line clearances, inspections, label verification, and in-process quality checks. All applicable cGMP requirements, safety procedures, gowning requirements, hygiene standards, and personal protective equipment requirements must be followed at all times. The position also requires periods of desk and computer work for documentation, inventory transactions, review of production records, and other Quality-related activities.
