COMPENSATION

$17.50-19.00/hr., based on skills and experience.

HOURS:

Monday - Friday 7:15 m -4:00pm, Saturdays 8:00am-12:00pm.

PURPOSE:

The cashier's primary purpose is to deliver exceptional customer service while accurately processing payments, managing transactions, and maintaining a clean and orderly counter area. They act as the final, crucial point of contact, ensuring a positive, efficient metal recycling experience that fosters customer loyalty.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet and assist customers in a friendly manner, provide quality customer service. Oversee truck scale operation. Answer telephones. Provide metal recycling information to customers. Transaction computer entries. Prepare daily/weekly ATM and cash reports. Upon delivery of cash & ATM service, observe and monitor armed delivery service, ensure process is completed accurately. Run corresponding reports, enter, add/or swap into Replenish Wizard. Report any discrepancies immediately to the controller. Balance and handle cash drawer on a daily basis. Beginning and ending balance. Keep accurate records of transactions and help prepare for audit. Dispatch tickets for outbound shipments of materials from yard. Prepare customer BOLs. Compiles and faxes weights shipped to customers, post shipments as per customer expectations. Other tasks as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Computer competency. Weights and measures background a plus. Bookkeeping skills. Basic mathematical skills. Exceptional customer service skills. Strong communication skills. Professional conduct. Multitasker. One year of experience in a similar position. Reliable transportation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; talk & hear Specific vision includes close vision and ability to adjust focus Sitting or standing for extended periods of time Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components. Lifts up to 10 lbs. from the floor to waist level and is able to carry such objects for at least 30 feet. Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings. Work in an office environment. Works at a desk location for extended periods of time to perform normal daily tasks. Work can sometimes take place in an industrial environment, with noise, dust and fumes. Noise level in the work environment can be moderate at times.
