AB_4973360 Job Summary DESIGN/OL, Inc. is seeking an experienced and meticulous Mechanical Quality Inspector. In this role, you will act as a primary safeguard ensuring that precision-machined, fabricated, or assembled components meet strict engineering blueprints, aerospace/defense standards, and client-specific requirements. You will be responsible for validating components across all key manufacturing checkpoints: at the initial setup (First Article), during production runs (In-Process), and prior to shipment (Final Inspection).

$64,000 - $84,000 per year shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM education: High School Responsibilities 1. First Article Inspection (FAI) Validate the very first part of a production run against design blueprints and
AS9102 / ISO
standards to verify the machine setup is accurate. 2. In-Process Inspection Conduct routine, scheduled audits of parts directly on the manufacturing floor during active production cycles. 3. Final Inspection Perform the definitive verification of completed mechanical parts, assemblies, or finished goods before they reach the packing and shipping stage.
Required:
Experience:
2-5+ years in mechanical/quality inspection (precision manufacturing, aerospace, or CNC machining).
Blueprint Literacy:
strong proficiency in reading complex engineering drawings and GD&T callouts.
Tooling:
Hands-on mastery of standard manual inspection instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gauges).
Communication:
Clear, constructive communication when reporting defects to machinists and floor teams.
Preferred:
Experience with AS9102 Aerospace First Article standards. CMM operation or programming experience. ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) designation. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk the manufacturing floor for extended shifts. Excellent visual acuity (natural or corrected) for micro-defect detection. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
