Quality Assurance Specialist (QA Inspector & Documentation)

Specialized Manufacturing & Quality Engineering Position Summary A leading manufacturing and technology firm in Garden City, NY is seeking a detail-driven Quality Assurance Specialist . This role balances hands-on product quality inspection with heavy quality administration, compliance tracking, and technical documentation . The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys performing physical inspections on the floor while maintaining immaculate, organized digital record logs, test reports, and compliance files. Key Responsibilities Quality Administration & Documentation (Core Duty): Generate, organize, and maintain comprehensive quality records, test reports, and problem logs. Document inspection results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and process audits using Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
Hands-On Inspection & Testing:
Conduct physical inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished assemblies to ensure strict compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis:
Investigate product defects or quality deviations. Analyze operational trends, report findings to engineering/management stakeholders, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Regulatory & Industry Compliance:
Ensure all products, testing procedures, and documentation comply with company policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards.
Cross-Functional Communication:
Collaborate with product developers, assembly teams, and management to resolve quality issues promptly and maintain high reliability across all product lines.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
2-4+ years of experience in Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), or technical inspection within a manufacturing or technical environment.
Strong Documentation Skills:
Highly comfortable with administrative documentation. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat for editing, merging, and maintaining digital PDF reports and spreadsheets. High Attention to
Detail:
Exceptional precision when conducting hands-on inspections and reviewing detailed compliance paperwork.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Aptitude:
Ability to read technical documentation/drawings, analyze test data, and trace quality issues back to their root cause.
Education & Certifications:
Degree or technical coursework in engineering, quality assurance, or a related field is a plus; Six Sigma or CQA certifications are beneficial but not required.
Compensation / Pay
Rate (Up to): $50,000.00 - $65,000.00
