Job Description Atlas is seeking a Materials Technician to join our team in Cleveland (Brecksville), Ohio . In this role, you will perform field testing and inspections that help ensure the quality and safety of construction projects, including roads, bridges, buildings, and other critical infrastructure. This position offers hands-on field experience, opportunities to learn from experienced professionals, and a chance to contribute to projects that have a lasting impact on local communities. Core Responsibilities Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer. Daily commutable travel to various construction sites primarily throughout SW Pennsylvania, with occasional overnight and/or weekend work as required. Out-of-state travel is typically voluntary. Relays information to the project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision-making responsibility. Transports equipment, test specimens, and documents to field personnel, laboratories, clients, or other offices and provides physical assistance with equipment setup. Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically. Performs field quality control testing of concrete and masonry construction. Performs field density testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials. Assists technicians and professional staff with project-related tasks and supports other departments as needed. Provides mentorship and training support to technicians and interns. Follows Atlas safety policies and procedures. Reads and interprets construction plans and specifications. Follows Atlas Quality Control (QC) plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You'll thrive here if you have High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Minimum of one year of experience performing concrete, masonry, soil, and asphalt testing and inspections preferred. Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods while working in varying weather conditions and terrain. Motivated, career-oriented individual with a strong interest in learning and growing within the construction industry. Willingness to travel within the reporting office area and surrounding regions as required by project assignments. Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision. Ability to travel, primarily within surrounding states. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification preferred. Nuclear Gauge User Safety Certification (NEPA, FERC, or equivalent) preferred.
