Job Description

Summary:
The Gaging Technician calibrates, maintains, and repairs precision measurement and inspection equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements throughout the manufacturing process. This role interprets engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to determine appropriate gaging methods and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, quality standards, and calibration requirements. Responsible for transporting gages to and from the plant floor to support production operations. Calibrate and maintain precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy. Complete all required gage documentation and maintain accurate entries in the gage-tracking system. Conduct routine audits, preventative maintenance activities, and inventory sampling in accordance with quality standards. Perform daily visual inspections of all gage benches to verify readiness and compliance for production use. Coordinate and execute the weekly gage exchange process to ensure timely annual certification. Conduct Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies to verify measurement system performance.
Manage gage inventory:
tracking locations, usage status, and calibration intervals. Provide support to internal and external customers by troubleshooting gage issues and identifying root causes. Perform minor gage repairs on the plant floor as needed to minimize downtime. Train personnel in proper gaging techniques, measurement practices, and equipment handling.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required 5 years manufacturing experience, strong mechanical background, excelled communication and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel emphasis) and related software applications preferred. Understanding of GD&T and calibration principles. Experience working with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, CMM, etc.). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and in multicultural environments. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with management to analyze issues and develop effective solutions. Proven capability to multitask and manage diverse assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
