full-time Quality Assurance Technician Commercial Metal Forming Youngstown, OH Commercial Metal Forming (CMF) has been setting the standard in tank head manufacturing for more than 100 years. We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys customer interaction, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Position Overview The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for inspecting in-process and finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications and CMF quality standards. This role performs product inspections, documents results, identifies nonconforming materials, and works closely with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement and maintain the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Inspect in-process, finished, and purchased materials to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards. Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, scales, and other inspection tools. Document inspection results accurately and maintain required quality records. Identify and communicate nonconforming materials or products to the appropriate personnel. Assist with root cause investigations and support corrective actions. Recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Calibrate measuring equipment according to established schedules. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to perform accurate inspections. Work with production personnel to resolve quality concerns and adjust out-of-specification products when appropriate. Interact with customers regarding quality-related issues as needed. Maintain organized work areas and follow all quality documentation requirements. Comply with all CMF quality standards, ASME requirements, and safety, health, and environmental policies. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of three (3) years of quality inspection or related manufacturing experience. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and scales. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Experience with GageTrack and MaxLite is preferred. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to presses, roll forming equipment, and cutting operations. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently reach with hands and arms. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. May be required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Reports directly to the Quality Control Manager. Why Join CMF?
