Wieland is hiring a Quality Control Technician. The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for: performing inspection upon receipt of materials and recommending disposition, reviewing finished products to conformance of Mechanical Prints, performing and auditing in-process checks to ensure compliance with procedures and ASME Code regulations, and working in conjunction with other departments to meet goals of safety, quality, cost, and delivery. This role is located in Delaware, OH and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay:

$24/hr, with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualifications

Shift Differential:

$0.75/hr

Schedule:

2nd Shift

  • Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm-2:30am
  • Training on 1st shift
  • Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm for approx.

30-60 days

Pay Schedule:
Bi-weekly Responsibilities Quality Control Technician Responsibilities:

Understands and adheres to company Quality Control procedures, as related to overall inspection requirements

Cooperates with production personnel and supervision to ensure maximum production with optimum quality as established by management

Inspects incoming, in-process, and outgoing material, parts, and assemblies to specifications and Mechanical Prints following standard shop practice and/or special instructions

Performs specific calibrations, specific tests, and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and records the results

Initiates internal NCRs and collaborates with Production to correct issues

Disposes rejected material appropriately

Assists the Quality Manager and others in the completion of various projects and implementations

Completes other duties as assigned

Quality Control Technician Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

At least three (3) years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with Quality as a primary function required

Experience reading mechanical drawings/prints, inspecting components, and writing technical reports required

Must be able to use standard and metric tape measures, calibers, weld gauges, and other quality/inspection tools proficiently

Must be or become CI/QAI (Certified Individual/Quality Authorized Inspector) and Liquid Penetrant certified within 90 days in this position

Vocational or associate's degree pertaining to position preferred

Able to perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching, and may frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs

Able to perform work in a medium industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, climbing ladders/stairs, and working in close quarters

Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Detail oriented

Strong analytical skills
