Job Description

Specific Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Inspects and test materials and products to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. 2. Assists machine operators with technical help and problem solving. 3. Assists in the development and implementation of approved processes and process improvements. 4. Inspection and audit of products, records, and documentation and evaluates adherence to procedures and work instructions. 5. Assists in investigation and implementation of corrections actions. 6. Confers with the Technical Engineering Manager to determine quality standards. 7. Performs product testing to ASTM standards and internal test requirements as assigned. 8. Develops and maintains necessary records and files for documenting product quality. 9. Follows, supports, and maintains elements of the Marlite Quality Management System (QMS). 10. Perform capability studies and dimensional inspections as required. 11. Recommends modifications or changes to existing quality and production standards and documentation to optimize quality and maintain status of the
ISO-9001
system. 12. Compiles data for analysis and creates graph charts and documentation to communicate quality measurables, issues and improvements. 13. Supports incoming inspection on materials as required. 14. Assists in maintaining calibration of measuring devices. 15. Adheres to all safety and personal protective equipment requirements during course of their duties. 16. Performs all duties with a proper sense of urgency. 17. Participate various lean and 6-sigma projects for continuous improvement. 18. Develops and maintains an effective, positive, and proactive relationship with all co-workers. 19. Formally notifies the appropriate levels of management of any observed concerns or product non-conformances. 20. Participates in annual physical inventory. 21. Performs other duties as may be periodically required or necessary not specifically noted above.

  • Capable of using hand held measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, dept micrometers, etc.)

Problem Solving Abilities Working Conditions:
  • The position is situated in a manufacturing environment and will work near moving mechanical equipment. Exposure to plant environment (operating machinery, temperature, noise, odors, dust, drafts and chemicals used in the manufacture of the product) during daily activities and interactions as required. Personal protective equipment will be needed in work area as posted.

Job Specification:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in quality.
  • Experience working in an
ISO-9001
environment recommended but not required.
  • Must possess computer skills within the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical skills and numerical aptitude
  • Solid communication skills, both oral and written
  • Learning time: After a brief orientation period to the facility and its methods and procedures, this position is expected to effectively competent the task assigned to this job Corporate and Plant directives.
