The Quality Specialist supports the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of Pipeline Packaging's
ISO 9001
quality management system. The position partners with Operations and other departments to maintain controlled documentation, administer quality-related systems, support internal audits and complaint resolution, report quality performance, administer quality-related systems, and coordinate supplier and product information. The role requires sound judgment, careful attention to detail, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer and continually improve the
ISO 9001
quality management system in partnership with the Continuous Improvement Manager and process owners. Maintain controlled documents and records in the QMS, including procedures, work instructions, forms, reference materials, approvals, revisions, retention requirements, and training records. Review incoming documentation for completeness, accuracy, revision status, and alignment with customer requirements; follow up with suppliers or internal stakeholders when information is incomplete or unclear. Administer quality workflows and records in QT9, Pipeline's Quality Management System, and the company's complaint management system, ensuring timely documentation, assignment, follow-up, and closure. Support complaint investigations, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and verification of effectiveness in collaboration with responsible process owners. Plan, coordinate, and participate in internal audits; document findings and support timely corrective actions. Collect, analyze, and report quality data and trends for management review, operational meetings, and continual-improvement priorities. Develop and deliver quality-system training and maintain associated training records. Collaborate with department managers to develop or revise procedures, work instructions, process maps, and other controlled documentation. Participate in continuous-improvement projects, Kaizen events, and problem-solving activities that improve quality, compliance, customer experience, and operational performance. Communicate quality concerns, requirements, and status updates clearly and professionally to employees, managers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Support distribution-center internal audits and periodic verification activities, including physical inventory counts when requested. Coordinate supplier and manufacturer documentation needed to support customer and regulatory requirements, including regulatory compliance statements, country-of-origin information, and applicable trade documentation. Upload and maintain approved supplier and technical documentation in the Product Information Management system and other designated repositories. Perform other quality and continuous-improvement duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in quality, business, operations, supply chain, or a related field preferred; relevant quality, operations, distribution, or manufacturing experience will be considered in place of a degree. Experience supporting an
ISO 9001
quality management system, document control, internal auditing, complaint management, supplier documentation, or corrective action is preferred. Knowledge and Technical Skills Working knowledge of
ISO 9001
principles and controlled-document practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Oracle, Salesforce, a quality management system such as QT9, and complaint management software is preferred; the ability to learn business systems quickly is required. Process mapping, data analysis, root cause analysis, corrective action, and internal-audit experience are preferred.
