Job Description:
Join our team as a Welding Technician - QC and help ensure the highest quality standards in our welding operations. This role is ideal for skilled welders who enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and collaborating with both technical and operations teams. Located on our Piqua campus, this position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities to grow your welding expertise and make a real impact. What You'll Do Perform welding evaluations and provide clear verbal and written feedback. Communicate observations effectively while welding and assessing weld performance. Evaluate products, identify defects, and determine root causes. Work confidently in all welding positions (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G). Operate across welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, MCAW, FCAW, and SAW. Work with Hobart Brothers product families to support continuous improvement. Apply knowledge of common welding codes (AWS, ASME, EN ISO, CE). Engage with internal and external stakeholders through clear communication and professionalism. What We're Looking For High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a 9-month HIWT welding program, vocational training, or equivalent in-house apprenticeship preferred. Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace. Commitment to PPE usage and safe work practices. Ability to prepare base metal using industrial saws and grinders. Comfort working with oxy-fuel heating and cutting torches. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and spend 7+ hours on your feet. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Strong time management and communication skills.
