Job Description

Key responsibilities include Supervising Quality Assurance team members and assisting in day to day activities. Perform internal SQF audits including annual system review. Audits SQF Manuals and all supporting documentation including, verification and validation of all work instructions. Manages and coordinates weekly export activities and ensure all necessary documents are accurately completed/signed off. Manages and completes special projects as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conducts ongoing risk assessments to assure overall compliance and adherence to SQF program. Conduct annual review of plant SQF Manuals and ensure sub-elements and registers are current and compliant. Develops corrective actions and monitors implementation, efficacy, and maintenance of preventive measures. Create new & update existing SOPs and Work Instructions. Perform new hire orientation training and support additional training initiatives with respect to FSQA, SQF, etc. Follow up on customer concerns received to ensure our current inventory is not compromised. Communicate and coordinate Product Hold and Product Disposition to Management team. Perform effective organoleptic evaluations (corrected sensory ability is acceptable). This includes visual (acuity and color differentiation), olfactory, gustatory, tactile, and auditory ability. Ensure facility is complaint with current regulatory requirements (i.e. FDA, USDA, and Ohio Department of Agriculture) and is inspection ready. Host and accompany regulatory authorities during weekly visits. Prepare reports on inspection findings and/or incidents and communicate to management team. Creates weekly, monthly and annual trend reports as assigned. Support with development, testing and maintenance of Quality Management System. Manages communication(s) with International Customers with respect to FSQ, Product Registration and Regulatory documentation. Manage and coordinate Export activities and ensure necessary documents are completed/signed off. Support with researching country specific legal requirements for Export Projects (i.e. Local Sec of Health, FDA, USDA, AMS, APHIS). Support company initiatives and complete additional projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a Food Science or Applied Science field. At least three to five (3-5) years of work experience. A mixture of education and experience equivalent to the above may substitute. Prior experience and/or knowledge of Export requirements/process desired. Skills Fluency in the English language required. Fluency in the Spanish language desired. Must have excellent oral and written skills at a technical and general level. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
