The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining product and process quality throughout Ohio Star Forge's manufacturing operations. This position performs advanced dimensional inspection, programs and troubleshoots automated measurement equipment, analyzes quality data, conducts quality system and process audits, and supports PPAP and corrective action activities. The Quality Technician works closely with Quality, Production, and Engineering to identify quality concerns, evaluate process performance, ensure compliance with established procedures, and drive corrective and continuous improvement activities. Key Responsibilities Program, operate, and troubleshoot Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), vision measurement systems, and associated data acquisition hardware and software. Perform dimensional and visual inspections of raw material, work-in-process (WIP), and finished products to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Utilize CMMs, vision systems, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment to perform product inspections and dimensional layouts. Audit manufacturing and quality system processes for compliance with documented procedures, work instructions, and established quality requirements. Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of new employee training and adherence to established processes. Audit and verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions. Identify and document nonconforming product or processes, prepare Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), and ensure affected material is properly identified and segregated. Assist with the investigation and resolution of internal and external quality concerns. Analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) and control chart data to identify trends, process variation, and potential quality concerns. Communicate findings and make recommendations for corrective action and process improvement based on quality data. Assist with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation and submissions. Prepare capability studies, dimensional layouts, summary statistics, charts, tables, and other quality-related reports as required. Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities. Support document control activities to ensure quality documents, procedures, and records are current, accurate, and properly maintained. Verify inspection and measurement equipment is maintained and calibrated in accordance with established requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, work instructions, and other technical documentation. Maintain accurate inspection, audit, and quality records in accordance with company and customer requirements. Support internal, customer, and third-party quality system audits as required. Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to resolve product and process quality issues. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, process capability, scrap reduction, and manufacturing efficiency. Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and work instructions. Perform other duties as assigned. Shift Availability This is a full-time, off-shift position requiring flexibility with scheduled hours, primarily supporting afternoon and overnight operations. Working knowledge of dimensional inspection techniques and precision measuring equipment. Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize product or process abnormalities. Ability to accurately document and maintain inspection and quality records. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic data-entry systems. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay:

$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
