Job Description

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join a precision manufacturing facility located in Willoughby, OH. This position offers a compensation range of $30 to $38 per hour, depending on your professional background. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm, including a 30-minute unpaid break, with optional overtime opportunities available on Saturdays. You will be working with components that require extreme precision, often maintaining tolerances as tight as ±.0002", though standard requirements typically range between ±.005" and ±.015". Accuracy is paramount, as you will be expected to document measurements to four decimal places on all official inspection reports.
Core Duties:
Utilize precision hand tools such as bore gages, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and thread gages to verify machined parts. Improve production efficiency by operating optical comparators to verify radii, angles, and length-from-angle dimensions. Demonstrate high-level blueprint literacy and a comprehensive understanding of GD&T. Ensure data integrity by maintaining precise and thorough quality documentation. Foster a collaborative environment by working alongside machine operators to resolve out-of-specification issues. Help maintain compliance with
ISO 9001
quality management standards.
Qualifications:
Bring at least five years of professional experience performing quality inspections within a machine shop or manufacturing setting. Possess a solid background in machining with the ability to interpret complex technical prints. Demonstrate proficiency with hands-on optical comparator operation. Show familiarity with standard inspection equipment including Mahr gages, calipers, micrometers, and various thread or bore gages. Apply strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of GD&T principles to your daily tasks. Utilize basic mathematical skills to ensure accurate measurement reporting.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Keyence vision inspection systems. Proficiency using Sunnen bore gages. Practical experience with Hexagon CMM equipment. Familiarity with AS9100 and
ISO 9001
quality standards.
Required Proficiencies:
GD&T expertise. Data analysis and manipulation capabilities. Measurement System Analysis (MSA) knowledge. AS9100 quality system familiarity. Advanced gauge measurement and inspection techniques. First Article Inspection (FAI) execution. AS9100 practical experience. Blueprint interpretation skills.
Technology and Equipment:
Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Various measurement gauges. Standard micrometers and calipers.
