Quality Inspector

• 25 per hour Day Shift 6am
• 3:30 pm Mon-Thur
• OT on Friday

PURPOSE STATEMENT

Inspects raw materials, work in process, and finished goods for conformity to product requirements. Capable of performing First Article Inspections and managing inspection records. Controls nonconforming products to ensure they are not processed further or delivered to customer. Calibrates some inspection equipment and maintains calibration records. Continually improves processes (production, support, and administrative) to meet company objectives (sales, on-time deliveries, efficiency, reduction in returns). Uses

ISO 9001

criteria, root cause/corrective action, preventive action, management review, plan-do-check-act cycle (PDCA), basic quality tools, and statistical process control (SPC) to improve products and processes.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

(Minimum education, training, skills and experience) Must be capable of using a variety of inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, depth mics, drop indicators, pin gages, thread gages, profilometers, functional gages, optical comparator, coordinate measuring machine, and measuring table. Familiarity with machine shop, stamping, brake and welding processes is required. Must be able to read and understand prints, finish specifications, bills of material, routers, and work instructions. Must understand acceptance sampling and be able to correctly use

ANSI/ASQ Z1.4

(MIL-STD-105E) or equivalent for attributes sampling. Must be able to manage or assess processes for document control, configuration control, records control, and control of nonconforming product as well as maintain related records. Must be organized and capable of maintaining inspection and related records. Must be able to calibrate precision instruments and maintain calibration database. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have basic project management skills, conflict resolution, time management and team dynamics skills.
