Job Description

Develops inspection plans and CMM programs to verify aerospace components meet engineering, dimensional, and quality requirements. Job Requirements 1+ years of CMM programming experience. Experience programming CMMs using Zeiss Calypso. Experience with CMM planning for verification and validation. Experience with Contra Bridge CMM machines. 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment. Aerospace industry experience. Experience working within AS9100 quality systems. Knowledge of GD&T. Experience performing quality inspection. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications, and technical documentation. Experience using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and other precision inspection gauges. Ability to create and format technical inspection documentation. Preferred Skills Experience developing AS9102 First Article Inspection plans. Experience with High QA Inspection Manager. Experience creating bubbled engineering drawings and inspection check sheets. Experience determining inspection sample sizes. Experience supporting prototype, first-piece, in-process, receiving, sample, and final inspection activities. Experience evaluating suspect or nonconforming material against engineering and quality acceptance criteria. Job Responsibilities Create inspection plans used by operators and inspectors to verify products against engineering requirements. Develop and maintain CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso. Create inspection plans for prototype, first article, first-piece, in-process, receiving, sample, process-monitoring, and final inspections. Develop bubbled drawings, inspection check sheets, CMM programs, sampling requirements, and inspection instructions. Support AS9102 First Article Inspection activities. Establish verification and validation requirements for CMM inspection processes. Review engineering drawings, models, GD&T requirements, and technical specifications. Perform or support dimensional inspection using CMMs and precision measuring equipment. Evaluate suspect components against applicable engineering and quality criteria to determine acceptance or rejection. Coordinate inspection planning activities with engineering, CNC programming, production planning, manufacturing, and quality functions. Identify and implement inspection and planning changes that improve quality performance and reduce potential defects.
