Inspector Job Description The Inspector plays a key role in ensuring that products consistently meet specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations within a clean manufacturing environment. This position oversees daily inspection activities for incoming materials, in-process production, and final products, acting as a crucial link between quality and operations by driving standardized inspection practices, resolving inspection issues in a timely manner, and supporting overall quality performance. Responsibilities Coordinate daily quality control inspection activities based on production priorities and risk to ensure timely and accurate inspection coverage. Ensure strict adherence to inspection plans, drawings, specifications, and standardized inspection methods throughout the inspection process. Ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable standards such as ISO requirements. Escalate critical quality risks that may affect product quality, delivery schedules, or regulatory compliance. Perform inspections regularly to support the workload and maintain continuity of operations across incoming, in-process, and final inspection stages. Maintain a safe work environment by monitoring safety risks and ensuring adherence to established safety procedures. Support and drive 5S practices, safety standards, quality initiatives, and consistent implementation of company and plant procedures and policies. Use hand tools and mechanical aptitude to tear down machines, install and rebuild with new molds, and then operate machines as part of inspection-related activities. Operate manufacturing equipment and hand tools as needed to verify product quality and support production processes. Perform basic data entry and documentation of inspection results using computer systems, including SAP manufacturing tools. Collaborate effectively with operations and quality teams, communicating inspection findings and recommendations clearly. Carry out other duties as assigned to support overall quality and production objectives. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing, production, or inspection-related environment. Ability to make independent decisions regarding product acceptance or rejection based on inspection findings. Working knowledge of production flow and manufacturing processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively lead and influence others. Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of manufacturing software such as SAP. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and related quality standards. Proficiency in the English language. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and production equipment. Ability to use hand tools, including wrenches, for machine teardown and rebuild activities. Capability to operate manufacturing machines safely and efficiently. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following safety procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience performing inspections in a manufacturing or production setting. Familiarity with standardized inspection methods and reading drawings and specifications. Understanding of 5S and continuous improvement practices in a production environment. Experience working within ISO-compliant or quality-focused organizations. Ability to collaborate across quality and operations teams to resolve inspection and quality issues. Work Environment This role is based in a clean manufacturing environment with structured production processes and established safety and quality standards. Work is performed on-site using hand tools, such as wrenches, and manufacturing equipment to inspect, tear down, rebuild, and operate machines. The position follows weekday shifts, including a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a swing shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment emphasizes 5S, safety, and adherence to company and plant procedures, providing an organized and professional setting for daily operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
