Quality TechnicianJob Description The Quality Technician works primarily on the production floor performing quality checks, verifying that quality processes are followed, and maintaining accurate documentation. This role focuses on interpreting and applying specifications and standard operating procedures, complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and clearly communicating quality-related information. Lab work is minimal and mainly involves preparing samples to be sent to a third-party testing partner. Responsibilities
+ Perform routine quality checks on products and production processes across the manufacturing floor.
+ Ensure all quality processes and procedures are followed consistently on multiple production lines.
+ Maintain accurate, complete, and organized quality documentation and records.
+ Interpret and follow reference documentation, including specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
+ Prepare product samples for shipment to third-party testing partners in accordance with established protocols.
+ Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) at all times.
+ Communicate quality-related information clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form.
+ Walk the production floor to pull samples from various lines as needed for testing and evaluation.
+ Apply attention to detail and basic math skills to verify measurements, counts, and test results.
+ Support a positive, safety-conscious, and quality-focused culture within the manufacturing environment. Essential Skills
+ Quality control or quality assurance experience of at least 8 months in a manufacturing or similar environment (preferred if no degree).
+ Or an associate degree in a scientific discipline with no prior work experience.
+ Demonstrated experience in quality inspection and quality checks.
+ Ability to accurately interpret and follow specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
+ Understanding of or willingness to learn Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
+ Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform basic math calculations.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey quality-related information.
+ Interest in working in a manufacturing and quality-focused setting with opportunities for growth. Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree in the sciences is strongly valued for candidates without prior experience.
+ Experience in laboratory or sample preparation work is beneficial, even if limited.
+ Motivation to build a long-term career in the sciences and manufacturing quality.
+ Willingness to learn and follow structured processes and documentation requirements.
+ Ability to work independently on the production floor while collaborating with production and quality teams.
+ Comfort with walking between multiple production lines and handling product samples. Work Environment This position is based in a clean, large-scale manufacturing facility that produces a wide range of personal care products such as shampoos, conditioners, and sunscreens for major brands. The role is 100% on the production floor, with minimal time in the lab, and requires regular walking between several production lines to pull samples. The scheduled shift runs Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. The environment is positive and culture-driven, with a strong focus on training, employee development, and quality standards. Dress code aligns with a clean manufacturing and GMP-compliant setting, which may include appropriate protective equipment and attire suitable for working on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
