Sunny Sky Products - Douglassville is a leading aseptic beverage manufacturer located in Douglassville, PA. We specialize in processing shelf-stable dairy, coffee beverages, and coffee creamers. Our company is rapidly growing and is seeking passionate people to join our team. We are looking for a Quality Technician Floater to support our Quality Assurance department by performing laboratory equipment calibrations and verifications, maintaining QA inventory and supplies, conducting environmental monitoring, reviewing CIP documentation, completing daily QA/PRP walkthroughs, supporting PDA and regulatory sampling, managing product retain samples, and assisting with quality documentation. This position is based in a manufacturing plant environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures.

Responsibilities:

Conduct daily QA/PRP walkthroughs and leak checks. Perform calibration and verification of QA/laboratory equipment, including thermometers, refractometers/Brix equipment, pipettes, and pH meters. Maintain accurate calibration records and identify equipment approaching its calibration due date. Coordinate the repair or replacement of malfunctioning QA equipment. Maintain QA and laboratory inventory, including reagents, standards, test strips, swabs, sample containers, and laboratory supplies. Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and check expiration dates. Perform scheduled weekly environmental monitoring swabs and assist with monthly pathogen environmental monitoring. Prepare, label, document, and coordinate shipment of environmental and other regulatory samples to outside laboratories. Collect sugar and raw material samples as applicable. Review CIP documentation and print and organize applicable CIP trends. Verify required CIP parameters and documentation are complete. Assist with sanitation pre-operational inspections. Collect monthly milk samples and complete applicable PDA/regulatory documentation. Maintain records for block heaters, calibration strips, laboratory refrigerators/freezers, and other QA equipment. Collect, organize, and maintain product retain samples. Assist with pulling retain samples for investigations and customer complaints. Assist Quality and Laboratory Technicians with routine testing, sampling, documentation, and other QA support as needed. Assist with identifying and segregating product placed on hold. Assist with follow-up investigations for unacceptable environmental monitoring results. Create and update SOPs and work instructions as assigned. Assist with reviewing and trending environmental, laboratory, GMP, and other QA data. Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary QA and laboratory areas. Support Quality Assurance coverage across departments and shifts as needed. Perform other duties and quality-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or coursework in a science-related field is a plus. Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and regulatory information. Basic mathematics and laboratory calculation skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures.

Experience:

1+ year of experience in a QA, laboratory, or quality control role within a food, beverage, dairy, or manufacturing environment preferred. Working knowledge of GMPs and food safety/quality standards required. Working knowledge of

GFSI/SQF

requirements preferred. Experience calibrating or verifying laboratory equipment is preferred. Knowledge or training in HACCP is a plus but not required. Schedule This is primarily a Monday-Friday, day shift position under normal operating conditions. However, as a Quality Technician Floater, this position is responsible for providing coverage within the QA department when staffing needs arise. The selected candidate must have the flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed to support QA department staffing needs.
