We make high precision injection molds and mold tight tolerance plastic injection molded parts. We are adding to our staff and have an immediate opening for a 2nd or 3rd Shift Quality Assurance Inspector . The position will support the production of precision plastic injection molded components in a state of the art, climate controlled injection molding environment. Primary responsibilities will entail completing visual and basic dimensional inspection of molded plastic parts to support in-process production requirements and ensure that components meet product drawing specifications. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to: (a) assisting with start-up inspection tasks to approve components prior to production; (b) assisting with the completion of hourly in-process visual inspections to verify production is running to established specifications; (c) completing final inspection of parts prior to shipment; (d) assisting with the collection and input of inspection data (SPC data; in-process data, etc.); (e) compiling QA reports and completing special QA tasks as assigned; and (f) providing back-up press operator support as needed. Qualified candidates should have strong math and blue print / part print reading skills, familiarity with inspection equipment commonly used in a Quality lab (e.g., micrometers, calipers, microscopes, CMMs, etc.); knowledge of basic inspection methods / terminology and procedures; ability to use a personal computer and common software applications such as Excel and Word; and an independent work ethic and attendance history. Previous inspection experience in a manufacturing or molding environment is a plus, but is not necessary as extended on the job training will be provided. The position is a full-time, benefits eligible job. The position will interface with production staff members and management team members.
