$21.00 + $1.50 Shift Diff. Reports to: Dept.Supervisor Status:
Full-Time/Non-Exempt Description The purpose of this job is to assure thorough testing, measuring, inspection of materials, and make sure that finished product variation is minimized and that quality is being built into the product.- Conduct random daily work in progress inspections of units being produced.
- Conduct daily specified AAMA inspections on finished products and record results.
- Read a tape measure and use a caliper to check tolerances of product.
- Work well in group environments.
- Obey all company policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily work in progress audits on glass panels and vinyl and record results.
- Complies with all safety procedures and wears appropriate PPE.
- Inspect work-in-process and finished units to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Understands quality process sheets and responsibilities and able to use a tablet for recording information.
- Needs to provide or actively participate in continued process improvements.
- Complete daily weld break testing and record results.
- Complete daily argon fill rate testing and record results.
- Conduct daily sill leak testing on random units and record results.
- 40 plus hours a week. Requirements
- High school graduate or a GED equivalent from an accredited institution and 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse environment; or a combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
- This work is repetitive in nature so the production worker must be able to maintain a fast pace with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good math skills and the ability to read a tape measure.
- Excellent teamwork skills; develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
