Job Description

Join our team at our Leesport, PA facility as a Quality Assurance Lead, where you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality on the production floor. This hands-on, interactive position is ideal for individuals with strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills who are passionate about maintaining and improving food safety systems. As a Quality Assurance Lead, you will work closely with production teams, management, and regulatory staff to uphold our commitment to quality and compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Oversee daily execution of food safety and quality systems on the production floor. Perform all duties of a QA Technician, including monitoring process controls, GMPs, pre-operational and operational sanitation, and personnel practices. Collect samples for microbiological and chemical testing as required. Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions when deviations from standards occur. Monitor employee compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs. Document, monitor, and analyze quality data to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products, packaging materials, and manufacturing processes. Lead incident and complaint investigations, verifying the effectiveness of preventive and corrective actions. Conduct routine and non-routine quality audits, including GMP, document, CAPA verification, process assessments, and HACCP audits. Oversee and ensure completion of quality improvement projects. Collaborate with
USDA FSIS
inspection staff and plant management teams. Serve as backup in the absence of the QA Supervisor. Report any animal welfare or food safety issues to management immediately. Report damages to company vehicles, equipment, and buildings using maintenance work order software. Follow all biosecurity, animal welfare, and good warehousing practices, and monitor for compliance. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Qualifications 13 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing facility, or a college degree in a related science field. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with upper management. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to assist others. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to meet assigned work schedules and comply with time and attendance policies. Commitment to following all company policies and procedures.
