Tooling Design and Fabrication CNC Machining Dimensional Inspection Design for Manufacturability Support Laser Engraving Services We support a plethora of industries whose products are employed close to home and throughout the solar system - our business is focused on serving the aerospace industry. Job Description Apogee is seeking a candidate for a Quality Engineering position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing quality assurance related tasks for a wide range of products.
This scope includes:
manual inspection, CMM programming and operation, drafting and reviewing inspection reports, AS9100 level documentation, inspection planning, calibration system maintenance, audit support, and managing supplier compliance. Apogee will provide all the necessary on-site, in-person job training and mentorship for a willing and motivated individual to excel in this role. In order to be successful, this candidate should: Be highly detail oriented Enjoy employing various hands-on skills Be enthusiastic about continuous learning Be comfortable interpreting 2D drawings and 3D CAD models Thrive in a challenging yet fulfilling environment of compliance and verification Responsibilities Inspection Create inspection plans based on customer requirements and specifications. Conduct manual inspection using calipers, pins, blocks, micrometers, depth micrometers, and other hand-held inspection devices. Record the results in the manual inspection report form. Conduct Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspections using PC-DMIS. Program inspection programs from solid 3D models, conduct all the associated inspections, and export reports in PDF format for customer submission. Complete AS9102 form when required. Draft, review and approve Non-Conforming Material (NCM) reports. Calibration Organize and schedule calibrations for all measuring instruments Review and approve calibration reports Audits Perform internal audits of completed projects Support customer audits Support AS9100 compliance audits Support internal quality management reviews. Calculate statistical performance metrics. Suppliers Maintain approved supplier list Verify supplier certifications on annual basis Continuous improvement Maintain, encourage, and document continuous improvement initiatives Submit and maintain record of customer satisfaction surveys Draft and approve correction action reports Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Experience in PC-DMIS and SolidworksTM Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment (REQUIRED) Lawful, permanent resident of the United States Benefits Apogee is pleased to offer: Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Disability Insurance Company Cell Phone Plan (after 6 months of employment)
