Summary Knouse Foods Co-op, Inc. is a grower-owned agricultural cooperative and leading manufacturer of high-quality fruit and food products. The Quality Assurance Technician aims to ensure that all product is tested for quality, taste, color, pH levels, and many more parts of the product. Without QA Techs, we would not be able to feed the whole country! Benefits 2nd shift - $20.13 an hr +.$50 = $20.63 an hr Job description Ensures Knouse products are within quality specifications and prevents production of defective merchandise by sampling and evaluating raw materials, in process and finished products at assigned plant location. 1. Maintains integrity of laboratory equipment by completing equipment calibration, cleanliness and housekeeping duties per procedure specifications. 2. Gathers information by printing computer generated score sheets to record information of inspection outcomes on scheduled time basis. 3. Ensures proper start of shift by completing all start-up checklist items as procedure sheet. 4. Records quality data by completing score sheet information according to procedures. 5. Evaluates raw materials, as required, by sampling and evaluating for specific quality attributes. Raw materials include, but are not limited to, sweeteners, frozen fruits and purees, raw apples, concentrates and all dry ingredients. 6. Evaluates in process products by sampling and evaluating for specific quality attributes, alerting production of trends from product specifications. 7. Ensures proper specification by sampling and evaluating container closures, container integrity, container coding, carton coding, and reporting deviation from specified parameters for adjustment by line mechanics and alerting Quality Assurance staff for correction. 8. Ensures proper disposition of out of specification products by alerting the Quality Assurance Staff for proper disposition. 9. Maintains historical reference by establishing a filing system for easy retrieval, maintaining files, and documenting procedures. 10. Maintains confidence and protects the organization by keeping information confidential and disclosing only on a need to know per company policy. 11. Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Contributes to the Company effort by continually looking for ways to improve productivity and customer orientation within department by use of better technology, procedures, and use of resources. 12. Maintains technical knowledge/skills by using the performance appraisal system to assess personal strengths and development needs to accomplish the tasks of the position. 13. Performs any and all tasks as required by the plant QA supervisor during the course of any and all daily plant specific functions. These tasks include, but are not limited to, retesting finished products, gathering and sending out weekly cutting samples, gathering and sending out customer samples, coordinating and assisting with reconditioning projects, set aside sorting, etc.
