POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Test Specialist role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of electrical testing data and documentation across transformer, apparatus, and relay testing functions. Serving as a technical resource, the specialist assists field teams with test-related inquiries, troubleshooting, and clarification of procedures and results.
POSITION FUNCTIONS
  • Review and analyze test data from transformer, breaker/apparatus, and relay testing
  • Compile accurate, professional test reports utilizing company standards.
  • Interpret test results and ensure completeness and quality of documentation.
  • Serve as a technical resource to field teams by answering test-related questions.
  • Provide support across Transformer Installation & Testing, Apparatus Testing, and Relay Testing divisions.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and clarifying test procedures and results.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure timely report delivery.
  • Collaborate with field technicians and engineers to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with field technicians ensuring adherence to safety, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety by promoting and enforcing safety policies and practices to protect employees, customers, and the public.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/apprenticeship training preferred.
  • 3+ years prior experience in transformer services or related electrical field.
  • Electro-mechanical proficiency in transformer assembly and maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently with good time management.
  • Ability to build and foster relationships with team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to conducts self in an appropriate manner as a representative of SEC, working effectively in a diverse work environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position requires regular presence in both office settings and active construction field environments, including outdoor job sites subject to variable weather and terrain conditions.
  • Must be able to traverse rough or uneven terrain and access energized or de-energized construction work zones in compliance with all applicable safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Must be able to travel and work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during critical project phases or in response to emergent field conditions.
